Story of Ram and Sita of Ramayana Story of Diwali related to Shri Ram (Diwali Story in Hindi)
In Tretayuga, the king of demons was Ravana whose capital was in Lanka but his demons were spread all over the earth. Not only this, Ravana had created havoc in all three worlds with his might. It had become difficult for people to worship God. Then on the prayer of the gods, Lord Vishnu took his seventh incarnation on the world of death.

Who came to be known as Shri Ram. This incarnation was an incarnation which showed every aspect of human life i.e. in this God performed his duties from birth till death. Shri Ram was the son of King Dasharatha of Ayodhya and since childhood, he had a humble nature, was well-wisher of the people and always followed the path of religion. The fame of his qualities spread so much among the people that the people of Ayodhya started considering him not only as their future king but as God.
When the time of Shri Ram’s coronation approached, the whole of Ayodhya was filled with joy. The moment for which the people of Ayodhya (Diwali Ki Katha In Hindi) were waiting since the birth of Shri Ram was just about to arrive. But the cycle of time changed in such a way that the coronation of Shri Ram was stopped and he had to undergo a rigorous exile of fourteen years.
This exile was given by his father Dasharatha at the behest of his stepmother Kaikeyi (Diwali Ki Kahani Hindi Mein). During these fourteen years he had to spend his life living only in the forests. Along with him, his wife Sita and younger brother Lakshman also decided to go to the forest.
The next day, when Shri Ram started leaving for the forest in the chariot, there was an outcry in Ayodhya. The people of Ayodhya were not at all ready to let him go. After Shri Ram’s explanation, they all understood but now they wanted to stay with him in the forest. That is, the people of Ayodhya could not stop him from letting him go but they decided that wherever their beloved Shri Ram would be, they would all remain there. This was the kind of affection the people had for Shri Ram.

But Shri Ram was a mine of dignity and patience. When he saw that the people would no longer listen to him and would follow him, he worked on a plan. When all the people were sleeping at night, he went out into the forest with Lakshman and Sita before dawn. When the people of Ayodhya woke up in the morning, they started mourning after not finding Shri Ram there. He came to know that Shri Ram had set out alone to follow his religion. Seeing this, his respect increased even more in everyone’s eyes.
After this, following the words of his father, Shri Ram lived a harsh life as a forest dweller for fourteen years. Every day they slept on the ground, ate roots and tubers and performed puja. Along with this, he also started eliminating the demons from the place where he was living and one by one he made the entire Indian land demon-free. Now the entire land of India was free from demons by the grace of Shri Ram but the demon king was still alive in Lanka.
In the last year of Shri Ram’s exile, Ravana fraudulently kidnapped Mother Sita and took her to Lanka with the intention of making her his wife. Trusted and devoted, Hanuman traveled the sea and mountains for many days in search of Sita. Ultimately he found him in Ravana’s prison on the island of Lanka. Hanuman took this news back to Rama, who was now even more determined than before. To protect Sita he gathered a huge army of monkeys. He also built a bridge to Lanka so that he could cross the water to rescue Sita.
One by one Shri Ram killed all the warriors, brothers, sons etc. of Ravana (Dipawali And Shree Ram In Hindi) and on the last day Ravana was also killed which we celebrate as Dussehra. After the killing of Ravana, Shri Ram was officially the king of Lanka and he got this post but he did not consider it appropriate to accept the kingdom, let alone go to the city.

This was because, following his father’s promise, he was prohibited from going to any city before the completion of the period of fourteen years. Along with this, he said that his goal was not to take over Lanka (Shri Ram Ki Diwali) but to bring back his wife Sita with honor and to end the terrorist demon Ravana and his army. After that he handed over the kingdom of Lanka to Ravana’s younger brother Vibhishana, who was a religious king.

Shri Ram took recourse only to policy and rules to fight against Ravana’s demon army. The news of Ravana’s murder spread throughout the world because everyone was afraid of his terror. When this information reached Ayodhya and they came to know that their beloved Shri Ram had freed the earth from sin by killing the demon king Ravana, there was no limit to their happiness. With this, the time had come for Shri Ram to come back to Ayodhya and take over the throne there.
On the day when Shri Ram was to return, it seemed as if the hearts of the people of Ayodhya had stopped beating. It was a full moonless night which is the darkest night of the year. But the people of Ayodhya had bathed Ayodhya in such a way that it was visible even from the sky.

For fourteen years the eyes of the people of Ayodhya were waiting for this moment when their Shri Ram would return. With this, now that he was returning after killing the demon king Ravana, his happiness had also doubled. On this occasion, they had decorated their houses, intersections and the royal palace of Ayodhya with the lights of lamps so that it was illuminated even in the darkest night.
This incident was so big that people remember it till today and celebrate the festival of Diwali with great pomp all over India on the arrival of Shri Ram to Ayodhya. Even today, on the night of Kartik Amavasya, the entire country is illuminated with the light of lamps and everyone is filled with joy.
